Beverley RUFC host Old Crossleyans RFC in the final game of the North 1 (East) Competition this season and will be looking to complete the campaign with a victory to keep their unbeaten home record intact.
Immediately after the match the Yorkshire President Steve Watson will present the Championship Trophy to Beverley skipper Junior Tupai, on the pitch and it is hoped that a good crowd will turn out for the game.
Last weekend the Beavers gained a comprehensive victory over close rivals Sheffield in an entertaining game which showcased some excellent rugby from both teams. Sheffield were perhaps a little unlucky to lose by 39 points but very few sides have been able to combat the skilful finishing of the Beverley side.
Backs and forwards alike have played some fantastic rugby this season and, if they can keep the squad together with a couple of additions, the Beavers have every reason to look forward to next season back in the National League.
Although, following last Saturday’s game there are doubts about several players recovering from slight injuries, it is expected that most will and selection will be made from the following squad:-
R.Bussey, L.Birch, T.Tanumi, J.Tupai(capt), S.Atiola, G.Jelencic, R.Smith, P.Duboulay, C.Infield, M.Kirkwood, F.Pickering, K.Renwick, S.Kerry, A.Ogilvie, M.Adams, S.Nel, G.Gibson, D.Worrall, N.Sharp, J.Pickets
