Beverley Town Cricket Club 1st XI finished in eighth place in the York & District Senior Cricket League after a convincing 8-wicket win over Easingwold at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
The visitors batted first and made 205 for 8, the wickets shared between Town’s four main bowlers Matthew Mudd (2-42), Tom Haytack (2-44), Greg Whyley (2-37_ and Jamie Roe (2-63).
Faisal Abid was Town’s batting hero with a magnificent unbeaten 126 which included 14 fours and 2 sixes.
He was given invaluable support by Ton Spence and Jon Fisher, who both made 27 before Olly Grantham helped Abid ease Town home with just three balls to spare.
