The ‘Friends of All Stars’ held a Christmas Party at the Memorial Hall in Beverley.
The All Stars Youth Clubs are for young people with disabilities and or additional needs, aged from 11 until their 19th birthday, who wish to access social and leisure opportunities in their local area.
Frances Wanless Barnardo’s, Disability, Support & Inclusion Service explained a little about their work, she said;
“Clubs are run by the children’s charity Barnardo’s in partnership and funded by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.”
“The clubs run throughout the East Riding in Bridlington on Monday evening, Hessle & Hornsea on Wednesday evening, Pocklington on Thursday evening & Beverley on Friday evening.”
“Clubs like these offer activities such as cooking, baking, sports, arts, crafts, games and music and is somewhere the young people can come together to relax & socialise.”
“In addition to this we organise regular inter club events, such as the Christmas party. We also organise theatre trips, meals out and day trips out, enabling our young people to access additional activities they may not normally be able to participate in.
The All Stars groups are always keen to welcome new members and if anyone would like to join them or would like some further information please contact them by telephone on 01430 810139 or by email at dsi@barnardos.org.uk
