An East Yorkshire college is on the lookout for the finest young footballers in the region to join its academies.
Bishop Burton College, near Beverley, is recruiting for its highly successful football academies.
Applicants can enrol on any course available at the College, not just sport, but must be able to demonstrate outstanding footballing ability and show evidence of achievement or potential at regional or national level to join one of the academies.
The college runs football academies at further education (16+) and degree level. It is also the home of Hull City’s Academy.
James Bennett, Head of Football at the College, said:
“Our success has been highlighted recently by a number of players who have come right through our system and are now playing regular semi-professional football whilst combining their training and studies here at the college.
“With our main partners, Hull City, based on site, players have even had the unique opportunity to taste the professional game. With us, we really believe that players develop their game understanding, their physical attributes, their technical ability and also as young people.
“With fantastic facilities, high level coaching and club partners across the region, there is no better place to play football at an elite level.”
The college is holding draft training sessions from 1pm to 3pm every Wednesday, from July 6 to August 31. There is an open invitation session for anyone to attend on July 13. Transport will be provided if required.
Anyone who would like to book their place, or find out more about the college’s football academies, should email James.Bennett@bishopburton.ac.uk or call (01964) 553055.
The college is also holding a Further Education Open Day, from 10am to 1pm, on Saturday, June 25. To find out more, visit www.bishopburton.ac.uk.
