Richard Bettison of Risby Homes has won a national Quality Award in NHBC’s Pride in the Job Award Scheme.  This has been awarded for outstanding site management skills on the company’s development at Keldgate Bar in Beverley.

Pride in the Job (PIJ) has been rewarding site managers setting excellent standards on site for 29 years and Richard has been selected from thousands of contenders across the UK.

MD of Risby Homes, Mark Barrett, says “I am delighted that Richard has won this award for the second consecutive year.  It demonstrates his commitment to achieving consistently high standards and his ability to motivate his skilled team.  I am pleased for Richard and my fingers are crossed for him to go through to the next round”.

Altogether 400 site managers were selected as first round Quality Award winners.  Richard will now go through to try for a “Seal of Excellence Award” in the Autumn.  The PIJ campaign reaches its climax with the announcement of the four overall UK “Supreme Award” winners at the Gala Awards ceremony in January 2010.

Becoming a PIJ winner involves a great deal of commitment and hard work.  Judging is based on 38 different elements of site management, from technical knowledge, consistency in the build process to excellent leadership and organisational skills.  Only site managers who demonstrate the highest standards in each of these areas, receives an award.
