The Yorkshire Regiment marched through the streets of Beverley today as over 20,000 people turned up to welcome them home from Iraq. The RAF Sea King Rescue Helicopter got things started with a low fly by over the crowds that had gathered to show their appreciation to personnel of the Yorkshire Regiment.
After a short ceremony at the specially closed North Bar the Yorkshire Regiment passed through North Bar marching past St Mary’s Church towards Market Cross as thousands of people clapped and cheered them every step of the way.
In the centre of Beverley people were hanging from widows high above the shops and standing on anything they could to get a view, every vantage point possible was being used.
