Susan Neave of Beverley’s picture of a derelict beach chalet at Skipsea
Judges definitely had a hard time when it came to pick the winner of Sewerby Hall and Garden’s recent Coast, Sea and Sky amateur photographic competition. More than eighty entries were submitted and the judges had to pick ten finalists.
Eventually, after much deliberation, Susan Neave of Beverley’s picture of a derelict beach chalet at Skipsea was chosen as the winner. Susan will receive a professional reprint of her photograph from Ben Walker’s Gallerino Studio.
The winning photograph as well as the nine finalists’ together with selected ‘highly recommended’ entries are now on display in the Brides Room at Sewerby Hall and Gardens.
Jeanette Foster, customer services officer at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, and organiser of the event, said: “With such a high level of entries, it was really hard for the judges to pick out a clear winner. I would like to thank all the entrants and hopefully this is something we can run again in 2010.”
