Beverley Skate Park Youth Tidy Up Event
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s youth service is hosting a series of Youth Tidy Up events across the East Riding. The events join onto a national initiative, The Big Tidy Up. The next Youth Tidy Up event, led by the Detached Youth Work Team is take place on Saturday 10 October at Beverley Skate Park from approximately 12 to 2pm.
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council Detached Youth Work Team, with support from the Safer Communities and Streetscene teams successfully completed a Youth Tidy Up of First Lane Playing Field in Hessle on Saturday 26 September.
Young people worked hard to tidy up their local field. Councillors Bob Tress and Philip Davison supported the event and joined the young people in picking litter. Afterwards the Councillors gave the young people an opportunity to talk about their local area and the issues that affect them.
Laura Townsend, detached youth worker, said: “We work with some fantastic young people who are positive about being active in their communities”
Rubbish dumped in the hedges soon to be cleaned up by the Youth Work Team
