Message From the Mayor of Beverley Cllr David K Elvidge

Mayor of Beverley

At this time of year I think we should all pause and take stock of what we as a community have achieved in our Town of Beverley. The glass is very much half full and I believe the Beverley Town Council has played it’s part working with our various partners on staging events such as The Beverley Food Festival, Armed Forces Day, The Festival of Christmas and The North Bar celebrations. These are just some of the things done in 2009, examples of what community groups can accomplish with volunteers coming together for the good of us all, united in a common goal of providing entertainment for residents and visitors alike.

It is also a time to look at what we can achieve in 2010 and I believe by continuing to work together for the good of the Town we can do great things in 2010. Things that will continue to attract visitors to our Town and support the local economy.

Our Town continues to attract plaudits from around not just the County but the Country as well, long may it continue.

This year Janet and I have been privilaged to visit and engage with dozens of community based groups throughout the Town working selflessly to help others, unsung heroes who make indivduals lives just that much better and brighter.

On behalf of my Mayoress Janet and myself may we wish you all a very Happy, Prosperous and Peacefull New Year.

Cllr David K Elvidge
Mayor of Beverley
