As snow fell on Friday afternoon Swinemoor Lane and Hull Bridge Road ground to a halt. As dozens of people had to brave the adverse weather to get to their destinations the heavens opened and it snowed for 3 hours solid. The snow plough driver told me it took him nearly one hour to get from the council depot to the level crossings on Norwood.
Car drivers were being extra careful and considerate whilst driving in the snow. It’s been a long time since Beverley has seen so much snow. Several people walked home, dripping wet, after spending time on “wesso” sledging down “Hill sixty” walked (or should I say struggled) home.
