Beverley Welcome Darlington Mowden Park to Beaver Park

This weekend’s visitors to Beaver Park for Beverley RUFC’s scheduled National League 3 fixture are Darlington Mowden Park. In the corresponding fixture at Darlington last October, the Beavers lost 21-36, but felt that the 15 point margin did not reflect the game. Only a 10 minute first half blast whilst Beverley regrouped after the loss of Goran Jelencic, allowed Darlington to score 14 points without reply.

Beverley RUFC will be out for revenge this weekend and a keenly contested game is on the cards. The two sides are evenly matched if the season’s results so far are to be used as a guide with the Beavers 5 points and 2 places above Darlington in the league.

Although lock Gavin Gibson and hooker Martin Shaw are both unavailable, coach Barrie Pearce hopes to have all of the remainder of the squad available for selection. With no match since December 12th and training hampered due to the appalling weather since, Beverley are bound to be rusty, but the weather is not likely to have been any kinder to Darlington.

Saturday’s game is sponsored by Yorkshire Plywood Limited and kick off is at 2.15 p.m.
