Beverley’s residents are being encouraged to keep their 2010 New Year’s resolutions to get fit and healthy by joining Swimathon 2010, the world’s biggest swim, on 25th April.
The Beverley Leisure Complex pool is one of 100 top swimathon pools across the UK to host a gala event, with money raised earmarked to help terminally ill patients through donations to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Swimathon 2010 is open to everyone from club level to general fun swimmers and the distance participants swim is their choice. They can either challenge themselves to do the ultimate 5k swimathon challenge, 2.5k challenge or 1.5k challenge. If people wish to join forces and create a team, then the challenge is up to them.

Coby Kemp from Beverley Leisure Complex said: “We are thrilled to be chosen to hold this event again at our centre and hope to raise even more than 2009’s total of £4,279.37.”
“We are asking people from our local community to come down and get involved, whether they are aiming to break personal records or bringing the family for a fun day out. The more people we have the more money we can raise for Marie Curie Cancer. With your help we can help others.”
The swimathon session at the Beverley Leisure Complex will be held on Sunday, 25th April 2010 starting at 9am.
