Colts Confident Sponsorship Deal Will be Completed

The Humber Colts hope to build on a superb start to their debut season when they finally get back to action after their enforced winter break this weekend.

The Colts only played their first game in August following a long battle from founder Rob Hunter, MP Graham Stuart and local councillors to secure a pitch on Swinemoor Estate. Work with the local authorities has been on going and this week Rob confirmed Town Council had proposed sponsorship deal though terms had not been agreed by the club.

Speaking to .net Rob said;

“We were very happy with the offer made to us by Council, as a club we need many things with kit being the highest priority at this point. The deal proposed is a good however some parts of the agreement are just not workable for us though me and manager Tony Henderson are working on possible compromise that will be acceptable to all parties with one of the sugestions being we promote an event run by the council.”

The offered currently being tabled by Beverley Town Council would require the Humber Colts to feature the Beverley Town Council logo on their kits with the wording Beverley Town, Hunter is said;

“There is no issue with Beverley Town Council we just feel as a club it is not right for use to use the town logo on our kit. Beverley Town FC has been a long established club and the logo in the local world belongs to them. We want to develop the Humber Colts and to do this we must build our own identity.”

“We are working on ideas and will take these back to Beverley Town Council and feel very positive that we can find something that will please all parties concerned.”

The Humber Colts have enjoyed a magnificent debut season in the Hull Men’s Sunday League Division Wyke 5, sweeping aside all challengers and currently sitting in second place with games in hand.

Although all at the club would admit they are playing at a level well below their capabilities, credit has to be given for Humber Colts’ consistent performances which should see them gain promotion with ease.

With a solid backroom staff, committed players and the prospect of a swift move up the leagues, a bright future beckons for Hunter’s Humber Colts.

Before the Humber Colts get back to league action the side face a tricky away day. On Sunday the Beverley side play in the fourth round of the Vice Presidents at Kingswood School where they will face AFC Steal Recycling. Manager Henderson is confident despite the break the Humber Colts can progress to the next round.
