Having been brought to earth with a bump last Saturday at Morley, Beverley RUFC have another tough game in prospect this weekend when they entertain Penrith at Beaver Park on Saturday (kick off 2.15 p.m.).
The fixture at Penrith last October ended in a 19 all draw and both sides have improved their form since then with the Beavers lying 5th in the table and Penrith 3rd. An entertaining game is on the cards and the Beavers hope to have Junior Tupai back. He is to undergo a fitness test on Thursday night and, all being well, will take his place at inside centre.
He was sorely missed at Morley last week, although with the amount of scrappy ball that was available to the backs, it is unlikely that his presence would have affected the result. The forwards held their own and obtained plenty of possession, but the speedy Morley backs and flankers ensured that the Beverley RUFC half backs were given little chance to use it.
Head Coach Barrie Pearce said today, “ we will be working on things that went wrong last week in training and I am confident that they will be put right this Saturday. Morley were, by a considerable margin, the strongest side that we have met this season, and we will put that game behind us and get on with the rest of the season.”

Beverley RUFC 2nd XV travel to Bridlington for an East Yorkshire League fixture (kick off 2.15), and hope to have a reasonable squad to choose from this week, with calls from the first team hopefully fewer than of late.
