Hodgsons FC will face a defining moment in their season as they face local rivals Beverley Town Reserves in the league at the Beverley Leisure Centre this weekend.

The Tanners dropped two points last week on the road and have struggled in the league since returning to action after long lay off picking up just point. Hastings has warned players of the importance of winning their games in hand to keep the pressure on the sides above them.

The match with Beverley Town Reserves was called off due to the poor weather, at the time Hodgsons FC were in good touch with Adam Foster scoring for fun, the introduction of Danny Cartwright to squad added further fire power to the team.

Beverley Town Reserves go into the game on a good run of form however when the side were scheduled to meet it was Hodgsons FC who were flying high. In the eight days the sides will meet twice with both sides fancying their chances and taking all six points.

Hodgsons FC are hopeful the squad will be given a boost with the return of Ben Daniels, Chris Heath and Jolly Thorne. Confidence is high in the Tanners camp with Jordan Dexter, who scored last confident Hodgsons FC can take all three points.

Dexter said;

“We know it time to raise our game, it has been tough for all the clubs in Beverley with lack of games over winter but we are training hard to regain our match fitness. Hopefully I will be given the chance to start the game, scoring last week should help my chances though first and for most its about the team.”

Stew Scott is another player who will be looking to bounce back from last week, the talented youngster lost the ball while trying to kill the clock and the resulting corner let Holme Rovers back into the game.

Speaking with HU17.net he said;

“I feel bad for what happened, I certainly have learnt from the experience. We would not be talking about had they not scored from the corner though they did and it cost us two points.”

Danny Ako is confident Hodgsons can deliver, he is under no illusion Beverley Town Reserves pose a real threat saying “There a side that could cause us problems but I think we have the edge!”
