On Saturday evening an art exhibition was opened in Beverley at St Mary’s Church, the Exhibition entitled ‘Peace and War’ captures the personalities and characteristics of fighting men and women in a profound way and mages to draw a parallel with struggle for life faced by children with liver disease.
With the support of the Beverley Town Council and the Mayor of Beverley, David Elvidge the exhibition will help raise awareness and funds for two charities, Help for Heroes and the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.
Cllr David Elvidge writes in the programme notes;
“As Mayor of Beverley it gives me great pleasure to once again work with the Defence School of Transport and in the doing so bring this unique art exhibition to my home town. The unquestionably high standard of the artwork coupled with subject matter make this exhibition truly unique. The setting in Beverley’s historic parish church of St Mary’s only adds to the events attraction.”
The exhibition which held a special preview evening that was attended by special guests from Beverley, the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and surrounding areas is now open to the public until the 26th February 2010.
