Easter 2010 Opening Times @ The Treasure House

The museum on the first floor at the Treasure House in Beverley will be open on Good Friday this year (2nd April) from 9.30 – 5pm, offering a range of exhibitions, as well as a gift shop for those last minute Easter gifts.

Current displays include the unique South Cave weapons cache and a replica of one of the Iron Age swords.

In Gallery 2, “Silver a beautiful metal” is an exhibition in partnership with the Hull Guild of Silversmiths, with some stunning objects and panels looking at the techniques involved in producing them.

Gallery 3 offers a selection of paintings from the permanent collection by the renowned Beverley artist Frederick Elwell (1870-1958), along with a mini-display on the works of Dutch 17th century artist Aert van der Nere.

In Gallery 4, “Fibre Voices,” a 10th anniversary exhibition by Fibre Art Wales (opening on 27th March), is a display of contemporary costume.

The museum is also open on Saturday, 3rd April 2010, from 9am – 4pm, along with the Champney coffee lounge, also located on the first floor of the Treasure House.

The Treasure House is closed on Sunday, 4th April 2010 and on Easter Monday.
