Members of CSV East Riding’s Youth Action Team 2010 (YAT) met this week to discuss plans for the coming year ahead. They also seized the opportunity to celebrate the success of 2009 by taking official receipt of the Diana Award of Excellence given to 2 representatives of the YAT at Lincoln Cathedral last month.
The current membership boasts a wealth of skills and enthusiasm which they are sure will be put to good use in the 12 months ahead. They are all currently involved in opportunities specific to media, radio, journalism, art, sport, youth work, adult services and a multitude of community based project work.
Phil Thompson, volunteer from Long Riston said, ‘I am delighted that we received this prestigious award recognising our achievements from last year, in addition, I am look forward to launching my new project with the support of the other members which focuses on highlighting and address the issues young people face around mental health.’
Anyone in the 16 to 25 age group, who would like to find out more about Phil’s innovative project, contact him on pthompson2008@hotmail.co.uk.
