Beverley Face West Park in Final Game

Beverley RUFC travel to Merseyside on Saturday to take on West Park St. Helens in their final game of the season.

Whilst the Beavers are comfortable in seventh place in the league table West Park are fighting a survival battle at the bottom and will surely be desperate for a win to maintain their slim chances of avoiding relegation.

They are only eight points adrift of safety with a game in hand over their nearest rivals and three matches left, difficult but theoretically possible.

Beverley RUFC are ravaged with injuries, but will be buoyed by a superb performance from a patched up team in Wednesday evenings Yorkshire Cup match against Hull RUFC at Ferens Avenue, which they narrowly lost by 27 points to 24.

From being well behind, much against the run of play, at half time, the Beavers staged a magnificent second half fight back and Hull were relieved to hear the final whistle at the end.

It was a superbly exciting game, played in an excellent spirit by two very entertaining sides.

For Saturday’s trip, selection will be delayed until Friday to allow maximum time for recovery from knocks but will be from the following squad :-

R.Bussey, M.Kilgannon, G.Jelencic, J.Tupai, J.Gardiner, J.Gill, P.Duboulay, P.Dale, I.Archibald, C.Infield, F.Pickering, A.Forth, D.Morris, D.Brant, M.Adams, G.Gibson, C.Hancock, T.Riby-French, D.Hodgson, D.Worrall(capt), J.McKay
