Information for spectators
There is always a terrific atmosphere in Beverley on race day with hundreds of people streaming into the town to run or watch the races.  Beverley Athletic Club provides live music outside race headquarters at the leisure centre to entertain runners and their supporters.  Bertie Beaver and Roary the Tiger will be there to cheer on runners in the 2k fun run which starts at 10.30 from the leisure centre field.

For those wanting to watch the 10k race, there are a number of vantage points along the route for spectators.  The race starts in Eastgate next to Beverley Minster at 11.15 and runners then head down Lord Roberts Road and Lairgate before passing through the bar and snaking across the Westwood on Newbald Road to Walkington.  Runners come back to the town centre via Broadgates, the Westwood and Westwood Road.  The last 200 meters are along Toll Gavel and Butcher Row to the finish in Wednesday Market.  Spectators could watch the race from the 1-mile point on Newbald Road and then walk across the Westwood to Westwood Road to see runners at 5 ½ miles.

Supporters are advised to meet up with family and friends at the leisure centre after the race to minimise congestion in the finish area in Wednesday Market where all 1300 competitors will finish within about 50 minutes of each other.  The fastest runners will complete the course in about 30 minutes while the slowest are expected to take no longer than 80 minutes.
