Hodgsons FC ended the season with their heads held high though without the cup they had travelled to Bridlington to win. Riccall United settled quicker and scored three without reply to win the Senior Cup.
Two strikes in the first half and one in the second half ended any hopes of a double for the Beverley side. Hodgsons struggled to create chances though came closest to scoring late in the second when a shot from distance by Danny Cartwright was pushed away.
Lee Hastings said after the game;
“It is disappointing, I accept we were beaten though it is hard to take as I know we can play much better then we did this evening.”
Support for Hodgsons FC was good as players and friends of other local teams travelled in to support the Tanners.
The club has a history with this competition with their name appearing on the trophy in years gone but this year it will be Riccall United that is engraved onto the trophy.
