In the last few years, Cheerleading has hit the UK with a bang. It is one of the fastest growing dance styles at the moment. It is all about pom routines, chants, cheers, stunts and jumps. It is a great way to keep fit and have fun.
Cheerleading encourages positive attitudes, healthy lifestyles, discipline, and develops confidence. To be a successful cheerleader, you need to build strength and stamina and work hard on your arm motions and jumps. Cheerleading requires precision and co-ordination. Stunting, tumbling and tosses require skill and nerve. Cheerleading is a progressive, fast-moving sport that requires dedication and determination.
Coby Kemp, senior assistant facility manager, said:
“We have had a lot of customers requesting cheerleading classes for children and we really hope the ones we are setting up will be a great success.”
The classes will start at Beverley Leisure Complex on 22nd June and will run for10 weeks. The class times are 4pm – 5pm and 5pm – 6pm. The course is aimed at children between the ages of five and 16. The cost for the 10-week block will be £35.
