Farm Opens Doors to Beverley Public

Molescroft Grange Farm threw open its doors to the public on Sunday to provide an insight into local farming and its role in maintaining the environment.

As part of Farm Sunday – a nationwide series of open days – visitors to Molescroft Grange Farm, including families and groups such as the 1st Molescroft Beavers, learned just what modern farming is about.

Alongside walks organised by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, farm staff were on hand to describe the various crops grown on the farm.

The farm, located between the Swinemoor roundabout and the Hayride, grows wheat, barley, oilseed rape and beans. It also grows peas for Birdseye and provides wheat that makes Hovis Bread.

The farm also organises free visits for groups, especially schoolchildren. Groups must have at least eight members. For more information, contact 882596
