Heroes Welcome Intiative in Beverley

Businesses in Beverley are starting to get behind the town’s Heroes Welcome campaign.

With Armed Forces Day already affirming the town’s commitment to our serving men and women, former mayor councillor David Elvidge has been urging shops, pubs and restaurants to actively welcome soldiers to their businesses.

Heroes Welcome is an intiative which means businesses will display a logo in their windows saying members of the armed forces will be made to feel welcome.

Councillor Elvidge told HU17.net:

“I think it’s fantastic news that The Beverley Arms have signed up and immediately put the Heroes Welcome sign up and immediately put the Heroes Welcome sign in their window.

“Also David Bird of Carol Bird Interiors did the same. Barbour the clothing store and Westholme Cars also signed up.”

Councillor Elvidge added that many other businesses were planning to follow the lead.

To sign up, contact councillor Elvidge at Beverley Town Council at the Well Lane or ring 874096
