Contemporay Exhibition by Local Artist Tony Snowden

Beverley Minster will host an exhibition of contemporay painting from local artist Tony Snowden.

Tony, of Minster Moorgate, has had his work exhibited in galleries across the UK over the past 20 years, but it is apt his work returns to be seen by local people.

Much of his work is based in and around Beverley, using real scenes as his inspiration.

His work is described by artist and writer Paul Becker.

He has written: “Some of the pictures have been developed from drawings made in situ; usually in the street and at night.
reality, memory and dream help to create the painting’s own distinct and intoxicating moods/atmospheres.

“Some are confabulations of the real and the imaginary whereby the intermingling of reality, memory and dream help to create the painting’s own distinct and intoxicating moods/atmospheres.”

The exhibition runs from Saturday 26 June to Saturday 7 August
