Beverley Town’s Newland Evening League side battled out a thrilling tie with East Riding rivals Hornsea at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Hornsea made the home side pay for some sloppy fielding and racked up 146 off their overs.
It was generally a poor performance with the ball for Beverley, but it was memorable one for 13-year-old Jamie Roe. Making his senior debut, his Graeme Swann-inspired off-breaks proved difficult to get away and he helped himself to a deserved first wicket.
In reply, Beverley looked to have paced their innings perfectly and needed two to win off the last ball, but with the ball hit straight to a fielder they could only scamper one to leave the scores level.
