An inspired performance with the ball from Iain Sugdon helped Beverley Town CC 2nd XI rout New Earswick at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Sugdon recorded his best ever figures in senior cricket for Beverley, picking up 6-19 as the visitors were dismissed for a paltry 139. He was aided and abetted by Matthew Mudd, who helped himself to 3-48.
This was a particularly fine performance with the ball as the track at Norwood has been full of runs this season, and wickets have been hard to come by.
Ian Goforth emphasised the benign nature of the pitch. He hit an unbeaten 75 as he took Beverley to 143-1 and an emphatic nine wicket victory.
The result sees Beverley secure in mid table of the York and District Senior Cricket League Division Two.
