Former Mayor of Beverley David Elvidge was officially welcomed to the Conservative Party this weekend.
It was announced last month that councillor Elvidge was switching from the Labour party to the Conservatives.
His move was made official at a gathering at the Memorial Gardens on Hengate this morning.
He was welcomed to the party by councillors Bryan Pearson and Elaine Aird, along with association chairman Peter Turner and Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart.
