The Green Dragon Pub in Beverley held a beer festival in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The festival was the finale to longer fund raising campaign by publicans Alan and Glyn Clarke. The pub has been baking and selling cakes and sausages to their customers raising over £560 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Publican Glyn Clarke told HU17.net;
“Things have gone really well and our customers have certainly enjoyed it.”
“The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a very worth while cause and seeing how they are always helping others it we wanted to help them.”
“We have not stopped collecting for them and are already planning more fund raisers; currently we are trying to think of new and wonderful ideas to capture people’s imagination.”
This week the Glyn and her husband Alan Clarke presented the Yorkshire Air Ambulance with a cheque. The money will go towards the operational costs of the service that requires a daily budget of £7,200.
Bob Smailes from the charity said;
“The pub did great job, it was absolutely tremendous that they raised so much selling cakes and sausages.”
“The day also allowed us to meet members of the public, many of whom had no idea that the service was a charity and depended on their donations.”
