Three members of the Beverley Church Lads and Girls Brigade – Bethany Hoggard, Chole Ruddock and Chole Lound – have certainly done their bit to make a positive impact on our community this summer.
Calling themselves ‘The Three Amigos’, the girls have been taking part in the Humberside Police Lifestyle Challenge 2010 which, in its 22nd year, is inviting thousands of young people aged 10 to 16 throughout the region to make a real difference in the areas in which they live.
Over the six week school holiday, the girls have been working on various projects within the community, including helping a lady who suffers with MS with her garden. They are all members of the Brigade Band, and have raised funds for their music group too.
This weekend, the Three Amigos held a fund raising event with a range of games at the Beverley Church Lads and Girls Brigade headquarters on Wilbert Grove in Beverley.
The Mayor of Beverley Bessie Foot officially opened the day’s proceedings and the girls raised over £30.
Next up for the enterprising trio is another fund-raising event to be held at Toll Gavel Church in Beverley this Saturday 28th August between 12.30 and 3.30pm.
