Molescroft Rangers made the step up in divisions look easy as they swept aside Howden Reserves at the Beverley Leisure Centre. Molescroft dominated the game and attacked at will, missing chance after chance before finally Darren Spruce, Molescrofts new signing form Hall Road Rangers beat two men in the box to slot home to give the home side the lead twenty minutes in.
The home side continued to press forward but they had to wait until the second half until they extended their lead. After the break Moley continued to attack and once “ice man” Tony Walker made it two nil the game was never in doubt. Moley continued to pour forward and scored three more times with Nicholson scoring a delightful lob following a through ball from Dixon and Spruce completed his hat trick with an excellent solo goal and then finishing after a missed penalty.
Man of the match went to Darren Spruce for his well taken treble but right midfielder Billy Pardoe was also singled out for praise due to his direct running, aggressive tackling and quality crosses throughout the game.
