This year’s Harrogate British Bridal Exhibition was attended by all reputable Bridal Retailers eager to view the stunning new collections for the forthcoming season.
The new collections are inspired with floral adornments and trims, both on the neckline, waist, shoulders and hemlines. Designs are strongly detailed, with fitted bodices flowing in to complete, ruffled and pleated skirts. A-line styles function effectively, along with side ruching creating structure and control to this flattering appear. Halter necks make a return, often with a daringly low deep v at the front as well as a plunge back!
Popular Colours for next year’s brides are set to be soft tones of blush, dark ivory as well as oyster a flattering option towards the traditional white and ivory, in fabulous fabrics such as Taffeta, Organza, Silk, Chiffon, Satin and Tulles. It is a sparkly season, with luxurious use of diamante and crystal trims across bodices, necklines and also as detailing on those full, ruffled skirts.
No nicely dressed bride is going to be bare headed next year as Harrogate was jammed full of chic headwear, from gleaming tiaras employing crystal clear or coloured stones, to fabulously chic hair bands trimmed with luxurious extra-large flowers in tones of pink, peach and lilac.
Feathers have made a strong comeback, attached to either headbands or combs, in fabulous tones of fuchsia, blush, purple, blue and lime green, not only a popular choice for the bride but also for the bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride/Groom.

Crystals as well as pearls echo the trend for romantic detailing on dresses, capturing the essence of 1950’s styling, vintage detailing remains, along with lashings of lace, utilised as a trim or as detailing across a bodice or sleeve.
