Meet the team behind the new Community Hospital for the East Riding at Swinemoor Lane, Beverley.
The recent open day at Beverley Westwood Hospital gave local residents, groups and hospital staff a chance to view the building materials for the new Hospital, including the living green roof. Representatives from NHS East Riding of Yorkshire and developer Interserve Health were on hand to answer questions about the construction programme. Pre-construction and ecological work will take place on site up until December with the main construction of the hospital building from January 2011. The first patients will be welcomed from Spring 2012.
The new hospital will comprise a 30 bed inpatient ward, outpatient facilities, a range of diagnostic services including x-ray and ultrasound, minor injuries and out of hours facilities, therapy services and a base for Neighbourhood Care Teams. Clinicians who will be working within the hospital have been involved throughout the scheme.
Ivan Ellul, Chief Executive, NHS East Riding of Yorkshire, said:
“I am delighted that we can now get on with the task of building a much-needed, modern community hospital for the people of the East Riding. Very soon people will start to see the construction take shape and the new hospital become a reality.”
