Beverley fire-fighter Shamus Harrison has proudly received two awards for his work within the Fire Service for the Beverley-Lemgo Twinning Association, including his work as Honorary Secretary.

Earlier this year during the Fire Brigade Open Day, Shamus was presented with the “Medaille Fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit” (Medal for International Co-operation) from the German Fire Service in Lemgo. The medal was issued by the President for the Fire Service in Berlin (Hans Peter Kroger) and was only the second medal issued in the UK. Another Beverley fire-fighter, Charlie Jenney, was presented with a certificate recognising his longstanding work with the Twinning Association.

In September Shamus was presented with the Fire Chiefs Award at the Humberside Fire & Rescue Service Community Awards Dinner as further recognition of his services for the partnership.

Shamus has recently been shortlisted for yet another award for the Local Government Yorkshire & Humber (International Partners) in November at the Magna Science Centre Rotherham.
