Beverley Town Beavers had yet another home game, hosting Gilberdyke, and were looking to build on last week’s positive result. Beverley started well opening the scoring within 5 minutes as Wilson struck taking his tally to two goals in two games. Minutes later Jackson capitalised on a keeper’s miss kick to pass the ball into an empty net.
Beverley were dominant but allowed Gilberdyke into the game giving them time and space, however they could not capitalise. Beverley got a third on the break as Jackson broke free and clinically slotted the ball into the corner of the goal. Beverley had a number of other good opportunities with Jackson missing out on his hat trick as he rounded the keeper. Wilson and Pardoe both just missed out with shots over the bar. Jackson secured his hat trick in the latter part of the half as he beat the defenders and keeper to the ball and slotted into the gaping goal giving Town a 4-0 advantage at half time.
Gilberdyke were handed a lifeline in the opening moments of the second half when they were awarded a penalty. Gilberdyke converted the spot kick and sparked into life piling pressure onto Beverley without really creating chances. Pardoe managed to restore the 4 goal lead with a fantastic finish over the keeper.
Gilberdyke managed to pull back another goal when Sticker turned and shot into the corner of the goal. A cross deep from the left flank saw Walker off his line and misjudge the flight of the ball as it nestled into the net. Walker had made two fantastic saves earlier in the match but was disappointed with the final two goals. Beverley saw out the final 10 minutes of the game in the ascendancy controlling the ball and creating chances but the score finished at 5-3.
