Braves were on top form straight from the whistle with tough strong tackles going in hard and fast. After just a few minutes Dylan Clifford broke free and charged through the Warriors defence as strong as an ox, to crash over the line for his first try of the day. Owen Harrison executed an outstanding kick to make it 6 points in as many minutes.
The Braves did not stop there as immediately from the off Jamie Branton ran hard and fast down the centre of the field with Jay Carrill-Black increasing these yards with his own impressive run. A pass was then made out wide that released Harrison to score and he converted his own try to make it 12 0.
Beverley continued with this attacking pressure and a knock on by Myton was picked up with ease by Kurt Pelham and a flowing passing movement down the line released James McGahey who battled through the defensive wall to score.
Another bulldog run from Clifford opened up Harry Gray to score an excellent try in the corner which was amazingly converted from the line by Harrison. From the off Callam Bielby did his own run fighting against a tough Myton pack and a text book tackle from Bailey Fulstrom against one of Mytons biggest lads was impressive. Full credit must go to Myton who did not give up and battled hard all through the game. They were rewarded with a good try against the run of play but Braves responded immediately with a try from Joe Wardill to end the first half 26 – 6.
The second half started as the first had and McGahey accelerated the length of the pitch before being tapped on the feet just before the line with a try saving tackle from Myton but Pelham managed to break free from the play of the ball to go over and score. This was followed by some hard tackles from Tom Tozer and a lovely passing move followed, for Fulstrom to collect the ball and battle through the defence for an excellent try. Clifford added another fantastic try of his own running from half way pushing off some mighty tackles from the Myton forwards.
These Myton lads do not give up though and made a long kick across field to catch out the Braves defence and score near the flag. Beverley forward Callum Officer tackled hard and low throughout the match and Ben Towse made his own impact stopping the Myton props.
Myton again attacked with a long kick and this was held without fault by newcomer Tom Wood who released Wardill to make another length of the pitch try and the match was rounded off by a three way passing move between Branton, Pelham and Wardill to finish the match off 60 – 10.
Man of the match Jamie Branton thoroughly deserved his reward in a game that was refereed without fault.
