No Soup Delighted With Success Of Summer Productions

Local theatre company ‘No Soup!’ Productions performed their latest play ‘Marvell at Midnight’ in the Beverley Minster Parish Hall. This show was one of many including performances in Selby, Newcastle, Camden (London), and at the Edinburgh Fringe.

‘Marvell at Midnight’ is an original play suffused with jazz, comedy, surrealism and accordions: a vibrant expose of the trials and triumphs of up-and-coming artists in 1930’s Hull.

The performance is punctuated by surreal, musically-charged dreams as the Greek God Morpheus forces Ellen to confront her biggest decision yet, to continue with her new courier or give up her ambitions to care for her unborn child.

Kerrin Tatman of No Soup! said:

“I was very pleased with the audiences over the whole tour but especially in Beverley, as it showed what a strong fan base we have here.”

“It was nice to see a lot of unfamiliar faces at the performance in our own town which showed that word of us has spread. Even though Beverley maybe wasn’t our best performance it was definitely the one we enjoyed most and the one we chose to film.”

“We received really positive feedback from the press, the audience and from professional critics, such as local actor Richard Avery and Margret Pinder.”

“The cast really enjoyed themselves this year; both socially and through the creative process and we can’t wait to embark on a bigger project next year.”

Look out for a large scale performance piece of Dante’s Inferno in Winter 2011/January 2012!
