Saturday Market may have been closed though some traders braved the cold to open.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council announced that the market would be closed on Saturday due to the bad weather. The market was also closed during the January ‘Big Freeze’ though this time round more stalls were open.
Traders said they have faced a tough week paying rents and not being able to work. Stalls open on Saturday were trading in fish, fruit and vegetables, fine mushrooms, flowers and wellington boots.
Saturday Market was still deep in snow though traders with shovels cleared areas and paths so shoppers could get to them.
