Beverley RUFC returned to action after a long layoff but were beaten by visitors Darlington Mowden Park.
Beverley, not for the first time this season, gifted their opponents an early lead in a game that Mowden Park won 30-17.
The Beavers did score two tries, James McKay and Manu Kirkwood both crossing the line. Both the tries were converted by Phil Dale, and Jamie Gill added a late penalty goal.
Meanwhile the inform 2nd Team was beaten by Hull Ionians: Beverley were firmly in the driving seat leading the game 14–12 with an hour on the clock though went on to lose the game 43-14.
