Hodgsons FC travelled to North Cave where they played their first league match of 2011.
The Tanners returning to the ground where they won the league title last season had a much tougher fixture in this top of the table clash with Cave.
Hodgsons opened the scoring after Adam Foster played Danny Cartwright in; Cartwright calmly lifted the ball over the stranded North Cave keeper giving the Tanners a first half lead.
In the second half Foster failed to extend the lead after fashioning himself a chance. North Cave responded and hit back going down the other end and levelling the match.
A string of fine saves from Mickey ‘The Mouse’ Morris kept Hodgsons in the game earning the Tanners a valuable point.
The draw keeps Hodgsons FC top of the table though North Cave, who have three games in hand are just 9 points behind.
Hodgsons FC manager Lee Hastings was full of praise for his side saying;
“We ground out a result today, had Foster converted his chance then I am sure we would have gone on to win. As it is, today belongs to our keeper Mickey Morris, his performance was exceptional.”
