Molescroft FC’s Mohicans played league leaders Willerby Wanderers at Longcroft School.
Molescroft FC started the game knowing they would need to win in order to keep in touch and keep their hopes of a championship alive.
All goals came in the second half and it was Molescroft FC who opened the scoring after a defensive mix up let in Louis Lee to score from close range. Willerby did level the scores after their forward burst through and somehow managed to get the ball past the keeper and defender.
With just 20 minutes remaining, Molescroft midfielder and Man of the Match, James Cotterill finished with an instinctive header from close range that hit the back of net winning the game for Molescroft FC.
Molescroft are now within one point of the league leaders but have three games in hand on their title rivals, Willerby Wanderers.
