Members of the public were invited to attend an open day at the Beverley Town Council offices in relation to the Beverley in Bloom Scheme.
Beverley has been entered in Yorkshire in Bloom for some time, and for the past two years the town has beaten off competition to win awards.
Assistant Town Clerk Helena Watson said: “Beverley has done very well in the Yorkshire in Bloom Awards.
“Every year judges come to Beverley and we take them round the town. For the past two years, we have been awarded the Best Large Town/ Small City award, beating off competition from places like Goole, Ripon and Pontefract.”
Beverley in Bloom is a more localised competition. Businesses and individuals are invited to a wide range of categories, including Best Allotment, Best Licensed Premises and Best Use of Small Space.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in this year’s Beverley in Bloom competition should contact Beverley Town Council.
