Beverley Town Mohicans U13 deservedly gained promotion to the Myton League last season after some fantastic team and individual performances.
Realising the step up in quality, manager Dave Collingwood looked at ways of developing his team further.
He said;
“I’ve got a fantastic bunch of kids and I’m proud of them all, every single player has something special to offer. I have coached many of them from the age of 7 or 8, and seeing them improve over the years has been a great reward. One has even gone on to be signed by Hull City. The coaches, parents and myself could see the potential in the boys and we wanted all the kids to have the opportunity to develop even further so we started looking for a professional coach”
After a long search and many references we found him.
Billy Gill has several years’ experience of coaching in centres of excellence and academies, and was looking for an opportunity to offer back to society his knowledge of football. After recent success with local grass roots teams he is now offering coaching clinics to all grass root clubs in Hull and Beverley. This involves delivering fun structured sessions applicable to the specific age group including key fundamental skills and challenges that are sure to improve individuals and teams. Through confidence and motivational techniques Billy applies sessions designed by professionals to gain maximum performance from the players.
Billy’s qualifications include; A Licence Part 1, UEFA B Licence Level 1 & 2, Psychology Level 3, CRB Clearance, Child Protection and First Aid, and a Degree in Physiology and Sports Coaching.
“The Mohicans have certainly benefited from Billy’s coaching, not only have the sessions been fun and relaxed, Billy has done exactly what we asked him to do – develop our players. All the lads are really enjoying their football and have upped their game this season.”
“They’ve developed so much not only in play, but also attitude, and the results speak for themselves. The way they play can be breath taking at times and that can be seen out on the pitch every Sunday. From all the players, parents, coaches and manager – thank you Billy!”
Billy also offers other services through his website. These include helping coaches progress through their badges, and other services such as stadium tours and football parties as well as soccer Saturday sessions and development centres.
