Orienteering Event on Beverley Westwood

Saturday afternoon on February 5th, sees an Orienteering Event on Beverley Westwood.  The event, which will start and finish near to the Walkington / Westwood Road entrance, will feature four separate orienteering courses, catering for the absolute beginner up to the more experienced competitor.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to test their map reading ability.  There will also be a “fun” MAZE-type Orienteering course on a much smaller scale, which will appeal to both young and old.

The event, which will be organised by HALO, will be open to anyone who would like to try the sport of orienteering.  The start times will be between 1pm and 3pm.  The latest electronic timing will be used and each competitor will receive a print-out of their performance.

The fee is £2 for adults, £1 for juniors and £5 for family groups, participants can take part on as many courses as they wish.  Coaching will be available from British Orienteering qualified coaches.

Further information can be obtained by emailing neil@halo-orienteering.org.uk

This is the sixth in a series of introductory orienteering events organised by HALO, the seventh will be at Weelsby Woods, Grimsby on Saturday 19th February (1pm to 3pm).

HALO also runs two weekly orienteering club nights, one at Beverley Longcroft School on Mondays and one at Oasis Academy, Wintringham, Grimsby on Wednesdays.  Both take place during term-times from 6:30 to 8:00pm.  Families and individuals are welcome at all these events, further information from neil@halo-orienteering.org.uk
