The Beverley Bandits were in action against a Scunthorpe XV at Beaver Park, but lost 12-10.
The first half was scoreless, and the Bandits received a talking to by their skipper about giving away too many silly penalties.
After the restart Phil Cromie kicked a penalty for Beverley, but Scarborough then scored a break away try which was converted.
Beverley Bandits took the lead when Andy Ellis scored a try which was converted by Phil Cromie.
However, Scunthorpe scored a late try to win the game.
