Blue & Golds Look to End Losing Run in Hull

This Saturday Beverley ARLC travel to face Hull Isberg hoping turn round a losing run that seen them drop to fourth from bottom.

Last weekend the Blue and Golds were involved in a very tough and competitive encounter despite the decisive score line in favour of Embassy.

On a very damp and dismal afternoon both sides were engaged in an arm-wrestle for the first 30 minutes before the visitors finally got on the score sheet with a converted try.

Beverley ARLC quickly replied when quick hands sent Liam Lane over in the corner for Steve Jonson to add the touchline conversion. The half time score was 6-6.

The second half started disastrously for the hosts as handling errors handed the initiative to Embassy. The visitors took full advantage to score three converted tries in seven minutes.

The visitors then added a further converted try in the 65th minute to seal the contest.

Beverley ARLC rallied in the closing minutes and Callum O’Connor was unlucky to have a try disallowed. Aaron Horsfield however did snatch a late consolation try in the 79th minute.

Horsfield took the Man of the Match award and it was he and Joe Wildman who were the stand out performers never taking a backward step against a very physical opposition.

It was arguably Wildman’s best game for the club and it is hoped his good form is carried into this weekends clash.
