Beverley RUFC embark upon the long trek to Cumbria on Saturday for their National League fixture against Penrith RFC.
They will need to shake off the blues following last weekends comprehensive defeat by a strong Birkenhead Park side, which pushed them perilously close to the relegation zone.
Having beaten the Cumbrians by 30 points to nil last November, and drawing the game at Penrith last season, the Beavers can approach the game with some confidence but they will need to alter their tactics and attitude if they are to have any hope of gaining any reward.
The plain facts are that, whilst on their day they are capable of beating anybody and playing with style and passion, all too often they slip up and lose to teams that they should beat.
Attendance at training by some of the squad is very spasmodic and, whilst some are putting in maximum effort week in and week out, others seem to be just going through the motions, especially for the 80 minutes on a Saturday.
The prospect of relegation is not one to relish and it is to be hoped that the squad realise how very real it is.
For this weeks game Francis Pickering and Phil Dale are unavailable and the squad will be selected from the following :-
S.Atiola, G.Jejencic, J.Fisher, J.Tupai, A.Spence, C.Harding, C.Infield, M.Hatfield, M.Shaw, D.Morris, M.Adams, J.Stephenson, A.Riby-French, D.Worrall, J.McKay, G.Gibson, F.Hopa, S.Johnson, A.Nightingale, M.Kirkwood, G.Walden
