Michael Gove MP, the Secretary of State for education, is to tour some of Beverley’s schools after being asked to come to the town by Graham Stuart MP.
The Minister is due to make his visit on April 1.
Graham said: “This is great news. A second ministerial visit to the constituency so soon shows how this Government’s Ministers are willing to get out and see the state of the nation for themselves.
“I am looking forward to showing Michael around some of our schools and showing him the particular problems they face.”
Schools in the East Riding are paid one of the lowest amounts per pupil in the country.
Graham added: “Despite this, schools in the constituency perform well, but I have always said a level playing field on funding will see schools in the East Riding perform even better.”
It is expected the Minister will visit at least two primary schools during his visit to the area.
