Revenge was indeed sweet for Beverley RUFC seconds on Saturday.
They showed power and precision to hammer East Yorkshire rivals Hull Ionians 38-7 at Beaver Park, with Phil Cromie leading the way.
He bagged a superb hat-trick to lay the platform for success, which was built upon by fellow try-scorers Dave Brant and Ben Sherwood, while Jamie Gill was on target with the boot.
Captain Ian Archibald was delighted with the victory, especially as it healed a still open wound.
He told HU17.net: “This is sweet revenge for a 47-17 stuffing they gave us just at their place just after Christmas!”
