Beverley Grammar School celebrated their victory well as they beat Longcroft School 19-7 in the final fixture of the Beverley Cup.
The fixture was moved at the last minute from Beverley RUFC’s Beaver Park home to Longcroft School, although playing at home proved to be no advantage.
Beverley Grammar took an early 14 point lead in a game that was hampered by the windy conditions. But Longcroft pulled a try back and got within seven points after making the conversion.
Longcroft raised their game after scoring game and threw everything they had into attack as they tried to pull the game back.
But Beverley Grammar had the last laugh as they sealed victory with a late try.
